SEO UX Checklist Extension — Privacy Policy

1. Data Collection:

The SEO UX Checklist extension does not collect, store, or request any personally identifiable information (such as name, email, address, or browsing history). No data is transmitted outside the user’s browser at any time.

2. Checklist Data:

This extension provides a UX-focused audit checklist. The only information stored is data directly related to the user’s checklist progress:

• Checklist progress (checked/unchecked items)
• The hostname of the website being reviewed
• Optional exported UX audit reports (generated only when the user chooses to export)

3. Data Usage and Storage:

All data used by the extension is processed and stored locally on the user’s device using Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API. No information—personal or technical—is ever transmitted to remote servers, external services, analytics platforms, or third parties. The extension works entirely offline and does not communicate with outside systems.

4. Permissions:

The extension requires only minimal permissions to function:

• activeTab — used solely to detect the current website’s hostname so checklist progress can be saved for that specific site.
• storage — used to save checklist data locally on the user’s device.

No additional permissions are required, and none of the requested permissions are used to collect or transmit personal information.

5. Data Sharing:

The SEO UX Checklist extension does not share, transmit, sell, or distribute any data—personal or technical—to any third parties. All information remains fully under the user’s control on their own device.

6. Compliance:

This Privacy Policy is written in accordance with Chrome Web Store requirements and aligns with principles of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because the extension does not collect or process personally identifiable data, no additional consent is required.
